SARAH HENRIE
Hi, my name is Sarah Henrie and I am the K-4 teacher at CWCS. I am originally from Northern California and moved to Colorado in 1990. I have been married to my amazing husband Chad for 23 years and we have a wonderful son Chandler who is 21. We love going to the mountains, camping, fishing, and traveling. We love the beach and have visited the Virgin Islands several times. It is definitely our favorite vacation spot to visit during the cold Colorado winters.
I always loved helping my mom in Sunday school, Vacation Bible school, and Awanas growing up and felt a calling for teaching as a young child. I come from a long line of teachers in my family and we have always said that, “God has blessed us with lots of patience and the love of teaching children.” After finishing high school I knew I wanted to teach children so I began a home daycare while I pursued my teaching degree. I began following my dream, but God had another plan when he made me a mom, which by the way, is the best job in the world! I decided to put my dreams on hold so I could raise our beautiful son. When Chandler got a little older I decided I could still stay home with him and follow my dream to be a preschool teacher. I received my ECE Diploma, my Preschool Teaching Certification, and my husband built a classroom onto our home where I opened my own private preschool. I owned and operated Little Harvard Preschool for over 20 years here in Montrose and loved every minute of it. With my son now grown, I felt God's hand leading me down a new path in my walk with him. I have been so blessed to have the opportunity to share God’s love with all my kiddos throughout my years of teaching and I am super excited to be at CWCS where I can continue to do so.
